So you’re interested in becoming an CranioSacral Therapist. Awesommme….. !

But you have no previous healthcare background? Or you have some but it’s not been hands-on (eg nursing, fitness industry, etc)?

No problem… we have the perfect package for you.

We call it Training from Scratch.

(Original eh? We thought for a long time about alternatives but, in the end, stuck with the ‘does what it says on the tin’ approach. Anyway…)

It’s a mixture of all the components you need to learn, practice, develop, refine, grow and become a confident and qualified CST practitioner.

And because our courses are modular, you can fit them around your schedule and needs, going through the training at a pace that works for you.

 

So what’s in it?

The basic elements of your training are the 5 courses of the Upledger core curriculum. The same for everyone who trains with us.

They’re called CST1, CST2 SER1 (SomatoEmotional Release 1), SER2 and ADV1.

And, because our courses were originally designed for practicing therapists, there is A LOT in them. Especially the first three.

So, when you are Training from Scratch you repeat the first three – CST1, CST2 & SER1. At least once. (Some people do it more.) Second time round it lands in a whole new way. This is such a valuable review.

The package also includes:

  • the key text books and some other cool CST resources;
  • free review zoom sessions a month or so after every class;
  • the Techniques Exam process;
  • some extra, specialised anatomy videos.

AND…

You’ll have some unique additional classes to help you:

  •  with all the nitty-gritty bits you’ll need to know about Becoming a Therapist (3 days);
  •  find your feet in a practice setting, a class with a small group of colleagues, called Clinical Applications for TFS (5 days);
  • and, when you’re ready for it… an online Exam Prep class (pre-recorded as everyone needs it at a different time).

 

All this is included.

Q

Do I need Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology Training?

Yes! To start, (or soon after) you’ll need an anatomy, physiology and pathology (AP&P) training too. At least a level 3.

You can do this elsewhere but we have designed one especially for budding CranioSacral Therapists. It’s called the Foundation Certificate in Body Science.

It’s run through the College of Body Science, presented online and with weekly live check in sessions. These restart each September & January/February.

It covers many aspects of anatomy that we need to know in cranial work and are not always detailed in other courses at this level. Check it out! 👇

As everyone’s situation can be different we may need to work out exactly what you need on a case by case basis, so if you’re not sure then please give us a call so we can help find the right route for you!

How to get started Training from Scratch?

Usually your first step is the AP&P if you don’t have it – although you can jump straight into CST1 too.

Whichever is first they will complement each other.

The hands-on skills start day 1 of CST1.

In that class you learn a whole treatment sequence – yes, in 4 days! – that you will go away and practice, practice, practice.

It is a bit like jumping in at the deep end… but when you know something is right for you, you want to start right away, right?!

What Happens Next?

You may choose to repeat CST1 before you do CST2, or you may do CST2 next. It depends on how much practice you can get in, how ready you feel and how the classes are scheduled in times and places that work for you.

It’s quite nice like that!

Then you work your way through the classes, the practice needed, and the repeats, as it works out best for you.

And we will be here, supporting you, every step of the way.

The other two awesome in-person courses included in your package – Becoming a Therapist & Clinical Applications for TFS – are currently run once a year so we’ll schedule the best ones for you once you have got going.

The Other Pieces you’ll need to complete…

Over the course of your training you’ll:

  • Attend at least 6 days worth of study groups,
  • Have 6 1:1 Mentoring sessions (with our qualified mentors),
  • Have at least 6 (ideally more!) sessions with a qualified practitioner, that includes SER work,
  • Write up 15 case studies to hand in,
  • Successfully complete the Techniques Exam.

 

We know it probably seems A LOT and maybe even a bit confusing right now, but know that it will all fall into place.

I want to say a massive thank you to everyone at Upledger UK for this amazing training programme.

It’s taken a while (7 years!) but it has been so worth it! It didn’t have to take this long but with juggling family life and other work too, that was the only way for me to do it. Luckily, the courses are modular which was a lifesaver for me.

Along the way I have own improved my health massively, learned a lot, and ended up with a profession I love where I get to help other people and feel like magic is happening every day I am in my treatment room!

There is a lot to do in the training… the first 3 courses have to be repeated which I have to admit I thought would feel like a waste of time but it’s amazing how much I learned the second time around with a different perspective, plus there is just so much information packed into each course, it was really useful to do them again.

Plenty of practice is expected between each course, so everyone has a good amount of hands-on experience before the next stage. So much learning came from ‘real-life’ treatments and my wonderful clients.

We also have to do Clinical Applications, working with real clients under supervision, write up case studies for 15 clients, complete 12 essay questions and then do a multiple choice and a practical exam! I also thought maybe the exams would be just a formality but they were tough!

So I feel like I really earned this qualification, and it’s good to know that everyone who has done this training really knows what they are doing. I would definitely recommend Upledger UK’s Training from Scratch.

Wow, so how much?

The total price for everything in the package is £6700 – saving you £1800! (Its piecemeal value’s at least £8500.)

In return for your commitment to this amazing work, we will save you ££ and support you each step of the way.

You can make one payment, or pay a £300 non-refundable deposit and set up a regular standing order, of £150 – 250 per month, depending on how fast you are moving through them (note that each class must be fully paid for before it is taken).

 

Once you’re signed up, you’ll be able to access our online Training from Scratch Resources Area where detailed information and all the extras will be available 24/7!


What’s not included: the accommodation at the Advanced class (required), or any other venue, the cost of personal CST sessions, mentoring and study groups.
